Got the letter today, what a PITA!

 

Can claim loss of earnings £64.95 per day for first ten days

£129.91 for 11th to 200th

£228.06 for all subsequent 201

 

How am I supposed to run a business..

You can write to state that you are in charge of a crew who would not be able to work if you had to do jury duty. You need to prove that no one could act up within the company and more than you would suffer financial hardship

Had this similar time last year when work was flat out, speak to your jury officer i found mine very helpfull i got mine put off until january when i was at my quietest went in for 3 days then dismissed. fine if you dont get put on a big case!!

Done jury service 3 weeks ago they treat you like 3rd class citizens you have to make your own coffee then pay for it. You can ask to be let off. I was a few times but had to do it this time. If you do go they try to keep you for two weeks even if you dont sit on a case. If you have any previous you dont need to do it. I believe if you join the bnp that may get you off as well.

Kev is right also same standard here in the states. What you can claim for loss wages is interesting. I have served and also been called back on 3 different cases, last 3 I got out of it for one reason or another.

Ha Ha i did this 2 years ago enjoyed it really.. and you can claim for more than you think.... it was real bad weather and got cancelled most days over the 2 weeks think i did about 5 days in total and came away with around 550 600 mark not bad for listening to a load of BULL......... done now though and never have to do it again....

i'm sure in my letter it said if you had been part of a jury before you may be excused.....you might be right though 2 years ????? i've slept since then :lol:
