Only scan read parts of this thread. I must be 1 of the luckiest/ unluckiest guys about. Got several otters on the river near me and got a well used holt at the end of my garden (it's been used every year to raise young for last 20+ years I've known about it) also had a cheeky bugger nick a small sea trout out of my bag while fishing few years back, also had 1 fight me for the fish I was landing. Quite often see them "cruising" and playing on different stretches of the river near me

Saw mum n the two kits again this afternoon. Got a couple of corking shots of the mum and one of a kit in the halt. In the fourth pic guess the fish in the mums mouth.

Clyde Muirshiel region and Greeto tributaries.......near you.

Hardly a place in Scotland that doesnt have otters but they seem to co exist with people and other wildlife up here whereas further south ....parts of England...they are increasingly in conflict with the interests of people and their activities.Mainly we could sympathise with angling clubs and commercial fisheries but in many cases, those sites have an artificial stocking level in any case.If the otters had never been removed from the eco chain then our waterways would have had to develop in a different way to how we know them.

Mink are far more serious a problem wherever they may be found.

Everyone does realise that Otters drive out mink, don't they?
