£200 a day for one man using minimal equipment sounds very good to me.

If i could get that everyday for the 3 of us (per man of course) then I'd be a very happy chap

There is no point stinging customers as they don't come back.

 

A regular round of customers when finances are tight can be a saviour. One offs are where you can boost income.

If your happy with the money, then thats most important, and if you pick up tree work off recommendations from hedge customers, then its even better. In this economic climate you gotta do what you gotta do.

sounds good money for a one man band and hedge trimmer if you went contract climbing and earned that i would bow down at your feet

if you worked 2 days you could buy a new hedge trimmer

wish i could buy a new chipper for 2 days money

or a new climbing kit

I've lost count of customer who I have told it would be cheaper to get a gardener in. But when it involves shifting large quantities of waste then that's when I/we come more into the equation.

 

But "at the end of the day" I'm a Tree Surgeon, not a gardener.

 

I have a grass cutting contract which I charge £300 per cut, these cuts, when I first started took a day, I've bought new equipment and have got the cuts down to 4 hours or half a day.

 

Am I charging too much ??

 

Or does the new equipment justify the cost?

To me the new equipment justifies the cost, If you have used your head and thought " if i buy this it will half the time of the job" fair play and the price remainds the same!!
