How do you boys load your pile and your trailers/vans for delivery ?. I assume your processors convey it onto the heap or are you using a bucket on a tractor or teleporter?.

The way we do it is process in the spring into vent 1.5 cu bags or into poly tunnel with concrete floor. Come delivery time scoop up with bob cat takes 4 minutes to load 2 cu metres means we can get 16cu out on a saturday with out breaking into a sweat. :thumbup1:

Processing into vented bags and stacking with my new (to me) palfinger crane. It seems to be a good system.

How you getting on with crane toying with the idea of getting one on a 7.5 tonner but the O license land scares me

Think I am a bit to old to be shifting much by hand on a regular basis. Currently use a 2 cu m bucket on a teleporter, one scoop and loaded.

Bobcats take a bit of getting used to from what i hear, never actually had a go in one myself.

So you boys putting logs into weldmesh type cages and drying outside, do you just run a loader shovel across the top of the pallets or handball it out.

As an aside I drove by a yard near Warwick a few months ago that appeared to have double height sheep netting cages. I may have been mistaken but it looked a fair sized set up.

Just got back from the yard,Had a little experiment this year influncd by few my American contacts on facebook.I've rInged a load up and left it sat for 3month in my field on two layers of pallets, totally open to wind, rain and sun. It's now absolutly as dry as I could ever hope for it's mixed larch and pine. It is Completly greyor bone white and as light as polystyrene.Seems that just leaving it open to natures mercy totally speeds seasoning,Its had a week of on off rain storms aswell, hasn't seemed to bother it.Just some food for thought for you all.....

my dad used to season larch submerged in our stream.
