Pallets are cheap/free so may aswell use loads of them. You could also stand them upright within the heap to section off areas and let more air in

Has anyone used the herris fencing like you get on building sites is it strong enough?

works well but just make sure all corners are really well secured, i filled one herris cage completely and it collapsed!!!!

I have mine in site fencing it's fine if you put abit of wire to the middle of one panel spanning to the back and same on the other side or where ever it's bowing badly

i use herris fencing but it will bulge out like a pregnant guppy!! use a scaffold board upright in the middle of the panel then a ratchet strap round the lot.:thumbup1:

Just got back from the yard,Had a little experiment this year influncd by few my American contacts on facebook.I've rInged a load up and left it sat for 3month in my field on two layers of pallets, totally open to wind, rain and sun. It's now absolutly as dry as I could ever hope for it's mixed larch and pine. It is Completly greyor bone white and as light as polystyrene.Seems that just leaving it open to natures mercy totally speeds seasoning,Its had a week of on off rain storms aswell, hasn't seemed to bother it.Just some food for thought for you all.....

Nature seems to do best by adding a bit of radiation and volcanic ash pollution dirt etc. A pallet and cover to keep of driving rain sorted. Considering the profit in logs I would say you have gone the distance already.
