It's quite frustrating when you spend time putting a quote together only to find the customer thinks the job will cost a couple of hundred quid when it's a weeks work for two men plus kit and travel.

Sounds like you need some big kit hired in. Then you could have it all cut n stacked in a couple of days and most likely be cheaper than 2 men + kit and travel for 2 weeks. it would also make it easier to sellt he wood as you could move and load it in decent quantities and lengths.

I gave the quote to the customer and now they are gonna think about it!!!!

They then started saying how much for certain trees to come down, how much can you get done in a day, how much do you charge a day etc etc.

Rant

Does pop burn well when dried?

Sounds like a typical pricing scenario to me.

Have nothing to do with the after sales, just price to do what you do and let them rake in the cash from the timber sales!

What sort of big kit are you talking about.

Try advertising pop and pine as firewood

Doubt you'd get any takers if money was involved.

Just go quiet on the customer and see if they keep nagging

You'll know then if your price is near the mark

Sounds like they are using classic techniques to drive your price down:thumbdown:
