Does the MOD own part of this estate matt? If so i think they will have to offer it to the nearest descendants of the original owners under the Crichel down rules

The MOD doesn't own any of it. Part of the estate (now thick hazel coppice and xmas tree plantations) were used during the war to house soldiers for the d-day landings as there is an old air field on the boundary.

Only the four villages on the estate? I wouldn't even contemplate somewhere with less than five... :001_rolleyes:

Before I got into trees I worked as an assistant land agent, and dealt with properties of this size a fair bit. One bloke was on the books (to buy) with a list of things that his place must have. One of them was at least 200 estate cottages. Apparently his reason was "So I can kick out someone every time we loose the cricket" :sneaky2::001_rolleyes:

Some people, you almost have to laugh.

Scanned out that airfield for putting on a rave about ten years ago. Farm cottages dotted all over it soon put that idea in the bin. That was the beginning, and ending, of my rave organisation.
