I think that people are giving up making firewood and importing the ready made stuff from the Baltic states, we looked at it and it is cheaper than making our own and we harvest our own timber, and i think it is affecting our timber sales as firewood producers are buying the ready made,instead of buying our timber and producing there own firewood. There are in hard times ahead for small forestry and firewood production.

In the UK around £50 ,... out of interest what does it cost where you are ? and where are you ? also what would a typical worker earn doing this sort of work? one of the major costs in the UK is land / yard to operate from plus many regulations to comply with, but I am still surprised that the transport costs still enable you to compete with / beat UK firewood on price ( at the moment anyway )..

40euros delivered to sawmill if it has been cut around 30km away. Pay around 800eur a month. I wont go any further but my pallet costs 70eur franko Croatia.

Orders are coming in quicker than I can get them out at the moment with other work commitments. It seems that the hotter the day the more orders I get!

Well this is flippin ridiculous; never known such a mad rush like it; averaging 15 phonecalls a day for the last 2 weeks, average 2 loads each.
