yeah i definately is my 200t blew up cuz stihl said use 50:1 to little oil for the speed of the piston, i dont even run my motocross bike anywhere near that lean. 25:1 is best, everyone i know runs it on that

It seems ironic to me that one minute i'm reading posts about using more 2-stroke oil and the other i'm reading posts about saws having carb problems. Could the two be connected?!

Run your saws on Stihl/Husky Hi-performance oils at 50:1, I've had no probs relating to the mix, tho I tend to mix fractionally richer, 4 shots of 100ml in 19litres. I think if your not running performance 2-t oils then 25:1 is a safer bet, tho a false economy. Personally I couldnt tolerate the smoke from 25:1.

On the longevity of modern saws, well they want you to replace kit, keeps them going. As far as running like the older saws, well I would hate to have a saw that wont start and run when its hot, cold, or just temperamental. Then of course, cant beat trying to re-wind the recoil spring back in on a freezing cold day on the old uns:001_smile:
