Salt to treat tree stumps?

I read on here that some people use pond salt to treat tree stumps. How effective is this? Does using salt mean theres is no need to train staff for application of herbicide and COSHH assesments?

My best advice here, and the approach many small businesses are taking, is 'you' prepare the stump and the client purchases one of the proprietory products available from their local garden centre and apply it...or form their local salt 'seller' (forgive the pun!) and that way you avoid all the associated 'head-ache' issues.

Cheers..

Paul

Wot he said.

Salt isn’t an approved herbicide (even though it is effective) so even if you conform to all the rules you still “can’t” use salt

Is that an acceptable approach for a small company to take for aaac?
