Did they sort it??

I had one bounce last year, but it was just an error and they were very apologetic.

No unfortunately i never recovered my money from them, but i did accidently trip on their lawn whilst carrying glyphosate one evening.

Cash or Cheque on delivery here. The only exception is a couple of companies that rent out tents / yurts with stoves in. They are there when I deliver and do an online transfer from his Iphone as I unload, then I email the invoice thru.

Hodge - do you do kindling? if so, where do get it from? trying to source some here as I'm getting more requests than ever.

Hi Dave, I don't do kindling, I can't be bothered tbh.

Cash, cheque and am encouraging Paypal. Had a friend of the wife have not one but two cheques 'go missing in the post'! Got my cash after 3 months: I've told her she can still have logs but there needs to be someone in when I deliver and not a log comes off the pickup until I see readies!

Cash or cheque for me, I to had a rubber cheque, they paid out of the wrong account and sorted it the next day, I had a hotel order wood and o told them cash or cheque on delivery to which they agreed, when I had tipped I took the invoice in to get payment only to be told the cheque book missing! I couldn't believe it, it then took me 4 weeks to get payment, a week after being paid they rang for more logs, I told em where to go!

We had the identical cheque book lost thing from a stove shop. Took 6 weeks of chaseing. Never again.

You need to try kindling we supply small local gargages they average about 125 bags a week and make at least £2 a bag. An easy £250 for chucking a few bags out on the forecourt.

With our other business it's always cash on completion. We get it a lot where the wife has the chequebook or they need to move some money. If i feel they're been genuine i leave without payment but call them within 3 days to remind them.

If i feel they're just trying to dodge paying then i pretend that i'm just a member of staff and my boss wont let me leave without payment. Funny how quick the chequebook turns up:-)

Don't let them know your the gaffer is the key! This isn't so easy for us any more as i've put a 'meet the team' page on our website but we don't really have issues with non payers. The wood business is strictly cash/cheque on delivery.
