trailer conversion

Had nothing important to do today, so i cut up an old horse box, floor was rotton. so cut the top off and removed the floor, started to weld some steel on to it, to make a trailer for running timber from my woods back to our yard, got a low center of gravity and 4 wheel brakes, so should carry a good load behind a 4x4. will finish of the fabrication work tomorrow and free the brakes off and friday a coat off Cat yellow, total cost not including my time £170:thumbup:

no floor keeping it light for big payload! got plenty of trailers with floors.

here is the converted horsebox with it,s first load on, trailer is 250kgs so big payload.

Looks awsome. If your taking it on the road make sure you don't cover the lights and put a ratchet strap or two around the load.

looks really good - what size wheels/tyres does it use?

 

I've been thinking of doing the same with a sankey,but the road legal load weight must be much better on a horsebox,I was a bit nervous about only having the one axle anyway!
