If its not viable to take it away, whats the harm on posting on here,(website for arborists etc)that the timber is no cost, one of us can have a few quid out of Apbell's consideration in this post,in these times that gets the thumbs up from me,seems you cant win sometimes.

The scroungers are already just that,& I would not knock an idea for fear of encouraging them, they are born that way!

Thanks Geoff :001_smile: I thought along the same lines as yourself . Someone could easily make a few hundred pounds out of this wood . As I,m not into the firewood thing I thought I,d pass the message on .

Sometimes you just cant win .

If it was in the members only area then maybe i would agree with you, but this is open to the eyes of the world, and someone reading that would possibly use it to explain away a theft or blag...."oh well arborists dont want it anyway guvnor" attitude

I hear you,but the distinction is that taking without asking is theft, that is a clear line.

The fact that this thread has raised all these points makes it a bonus,it might get one of ours a bit of money this winter,& the eyes of the world can see that we dont like people just presuming its all free.

If it was closer I would be on my way but Hampshire to cheshire at 15mph would kill the job. If any one has large take downs near Andover I will be able to collect soon and 2ft stems up to 3 tonne will not be a problem. Save you ringing up:thumbup1:
