Have found armour prus on any vt set up difficult to get to self tend.. What cord are you using mark?

How long have you been using it? Mine was crap at first. Now its a dream.

After one try with the pinto I am inclined to agree. I'll give it a bit longer though just to make sure its not me. I found that it doesn't feed slack as well as the hc and also, when there is slack in the setup it flops around making it harder to find the tail to pull, this could be me not being used to it though.

I can always use the pinto as a floating anchor if I go back to the hc.

AP all the way Matt.

For true self tending I find you need a fair length of rope beneath you, and if I'm honest that doesn't happen to me that often any more! You'd have to talk to Ross Smith or Rich Rule who climb anything higher than a desk for me now.

BTW Tom, the shackle measures 24mm internal diameter, so I'll go for the 26mm DMM to keep things neat.

I'll put pics up when I've set up, although I'll probably be on the Ten o'clock news by then as the worlds most efficient tree surgeon now Stevie Blair has retired.

I been trying some ideas.

Mark is this what you meant by a shackle?

In this picture the shackle stays in place nicely but you lose the option of the third hole in the HC.

I'm not sure its really any benefit though.

And then here, in this method it just keep the bottom of the hitch tidier but has no other funtion really, its no improvement but at least you still have the middle hole available.
