Yes lots of bikes out today.

Did you see a Painted purple tree along the A12 about 4 miles before the Aldeburgh turn going towards Lowestoft It had all yellow bicycles hanging from it.

Sold both these last year. Had the zx for 4/5 years and had gone through it and given it a light resto. Bought the fazer 1000 as a replacement, but sold it after 4 months because I didn't find it comfortable over long distance. Shame, because they are an awesome bike. Oh, and yes I do regret selling the zx.

Just been offered a cagiva elephant 900 which might tempt me back in the saddle.

Used to passenger ina sidecar outfit fitted with a zx10 engineback in the late eighties, brilliant engine, the only engine to compete withit was an Suzuki gsxr1100.

I didn't go that far up, I thought it would be busy with traffic going to the latitude festival

Traffic was not bad at all considering, I will take a pic of that tree next time I pass and post it on here.

What do you ride out of interest?

What's the Speedmaster like? Never ridden a custom-style bike but after I get a hip op, that's what i'm going for. I was thinking the Speedmaster or Bonneville America, probably SM due to less polishing.

It's a nice bike to ride, can nip along quite well when you need to, if you have ridden bigger stuff though you will probably find you need to wring it sometimes.

Sadly it is let down by not so great build quality, and similar service from triumph (not the dealer)

I would suggest before you consider buying one you search on the net for "triumph speedmaster stalling" it also effects the america as they have the same lump and timing.

The build quality is pretty poor, mine had 4 new exhaust cans before they finally sent one that wasn't rusty, along with several other bits.

I have messed with mine now and done most of the mods to stop the stalling/stuttering issue, doing that has taken it out of warranty but tbh triumphs warranty isn't worth much, it has now made it quite a nice bike to ride, but whole thing has left a very bitter taste in my mouth towards triumph as they will not admit there is an issue and there are plenty of owners out there saying there is.

When I bought it I was looking at a new harley fatbob and although a lot more money knowing what I do now about the stalling/stuttering issue I wish I had gone for it instead.

That's good feedback, thanks.

I thought that I would stick with Triumph as I loved my Sprint RS but I may save a bit more for a Harley when the time comes.

Cheers.

My old man has had 2 Americas and a 1600 thunderbird, then swapped that for a Harley which he hated and went back to an America. Which is a loverly bike
