Hi! Basically my collage which I'm on the second year of the diploma announced to me today that they are not able to do the foundation degree next year<---not the happiest about it!

Basically I would like to see peoples experiences with collages throughout the uk and which they would recommend me to go to for the next couple of years to top up to a foundation degree or a degree, all advice would be appreciated and if you could throw in a trainee tree consultant or surveying job that would be even better :001_tt2:!!!

Cheers ciaran glyde

Would you consider doing the Foundation online on a part time basis? There are several AT members doing / have done this course that would be able to advise you if it is something you're thinking about :thumbup1:

I'm doing the foundation at myerscough and I am pleased with it. I'm doing it full time, but it's still only 3 days a week. There are people on here doing it online and finding it ok. I prefer to do it on campus then younget the interaction and help from tutors

i don't know if kirkley hall do the foundation degree but askham bryan at york do it full time and part time and it is awarded by harper adams university college. Are you going to arbfair north on 13/14 may? if so pop into the arbtalk tent and have a word with anyone who is in there.

Hi thanks for your reply- I would defiantly consider it, can you please tell me roughly how you learn? E.g. Video calls, emailing documents etc

Hi- thanks for the reply, basically I'm at kirkley hall now and they have lost funding to do the corse next year which is why I'm panicking about finding a place!

I will have a look at askham Bryan

And yes I will be at arbfair north- see you there!

I'm at Moulton College in Northampton. It's a really nice location and the resources are great.

There is also a a lot of money being pumped into some new building projects that will be completed by the end of the summer break.

The work load is pretty steady and your pretty much in the centre of the country, so nice and close to arb shows, unique estates, arboretum's etc.

Hope this helps.

Matt.

Thank you very much, I will defiantly consider it as you can't beat a mordern collage- complete opposite of the one I'm studying at at present!

Thank you very much, ciaran glyde
