I did wonder about Japa and Hakkie, but there's a 1k difference in quoted prices at the mo.

I've got a Hakkie OH60 which suits me well. The Japa feeds from right to left rather than left to right on the hakkie which from my point of view isn't as comfy. It comes down to personal opinion though. Apart from that they are basically the same machine.

Used the Hakkie at the weekend (and previously) and had a few issues with pieces not splitting (fresh oak at 10"), mainly joints or knots. Also pushing the trough over (and stopping it jamming the blade) with big pieces was hard work by the end of the day.

Has the Japa got a sliding table? Do the runners get fouled up?

Will have to find out who is going to have what at the APF, and seek out a demo bargain.

never had a problem with fouling or jaming the blade whilst cutting.

only jambed the blade when a small offcut falls between blade and guard.

never ever seen a processor that has managed to split every piece of wood.

i've even jambed wood on my 30 ton posch

Crikey, jammed a 30t press! Pass the saw!

Maybe a bit of an unfair test but my splitter would not even coughed on some of these bits

.

The blade gets jammed when the wood twists and the drive belts slip.

I don't expect a magical machine that you can throw all comers in and get perfect logs out. But was a bit surprised.
