Family history of military service ranging across the years with a variety of campaigns from Passchendaele to Dhofar. Educated by RAF Benevolent Fund due to Dad passing away whilst still in service, buried in the CWGC section of the Church in Leeming village.

will be ex in just under 3 weeks, cant wait. got cs30/31/38/39 training booked in.

 

ex engineers 23engr Regt, 9 Sqn, getting out after 8 years service. Great to see so many ex forces on the forum, looks like I am making the right career move if it suits so many like minds.

Morning all, ex 9/12 Royal Lancers, love this work nearly as much as sitting in a scimitar stagging on!. Nice to see there's more of us out & about on here!.

I'm not military but I want to ask if the British army gore-tex overtrousers are any good or do they melt slowly when in contact with water...?

Just ordered a pair, probally in time for summer...hhh!

Melt when touched by water?? Lol

If uve bought the new type there very good.keep them clean otherwise they'll allow water in

Alrite desertrat, yeah still out there, should b leaving soon tho when they amalgamate with QRL. We went there in 2000 for an estimated 3 years!.

 

Lol aye i was out there early 00-05, and cant believe your amalgamating with QRL(9/12-17/21) thats me old mans crew. One of me old muckas went over to you after 03. Think he started out in hq (comms based) young scottish lad called bennett. So where you looking to plant some roots once uve left?
