As I'm up for new trousers soon, I'm interested to find out which brand (if any !) is considered to be the best all rounder ie. quality of stitching etc.

I know it mostly comes down to looking after your kit, no tailoring with a silky ,or saw exhaust:001_tongue:

I've had various ,SIP ones,stretchair, HIflex....

What does the majority go with??

Personally, I'll be sticking with the StretchAirs. No other reason than I'm happy with the product, and see no reason to change.

The stretch airs look good. Not sure of the weight difference between them and the hiflex, but they look more durable. The pocket lining has gone in all my stihl clothing and for something that costs that much you would expect better quality than that.

had a pair of sip 6.1's (front protection only) for about 12 months now,small exhaust burn on one leg but have worn very well and should do another year easily.bought them from ARBIRELAND off the web at a very good price,best pair i've had so far,can recommend

Exactly the same problem, I think I was only 3 months into a pair when stitching started to pull out.

for type c's go for the freedom ultra fit II

cany fault them!!!!! not too keen on the freedom a's........... bit too baggy for me but ive got a pair any way!!!!!

nothing compares to the huge green sips tho, quilts dont even come close:001_tongue:

ive just changed from hiflex the the new(?) sip ultrafit all round protection, and rate them far better than hiflex-tougher outer material, and generally comfier, tad cheaper too

Stretch airs get my vote, Best pants ive had, light and very tough in my opinion!

Can get stihl branded, N.Z made trousers for around $170 AUD ,**** knows how many pounds that is..
