Get over yourselves- if they were getting rid of it and concreting over the site fair enough- be annoyed, upset whatever. I am sure that this is essential and being done with the utmost respect.

 

have to agree with tommer.....this was probably stoked up by a tabloid newspaper!!

On reflection this sounds like what the paper had done. Blown it all out of proportion. I had a particularly bad day and just saw the article and saw red.:blushing:

 

When you look at a newspaper the only thing you can truly believe is the date and that’s only accurate for a day

Before I read the story I was led to believe the memorial was being removed and chucked down the tip. As it's merely being moved, I have no issue whatsoever. We can't live in the past. How many layers of history have been covered up by necessary development so far? Loads. Needs to be done really. Crack on boys!
