looking at the almost complete decay of the region i would say australe, applanatum could do that much damage to plane IMO

 

but im not so sure about this stuff these days!:blushing:

That looks like Rigidoporus ulmaris in the pics. got that white algae covered top.

 

It's a very poor pic. I done my girl scout impression and went rumaging in the cavity (I could fit in there easily!) and it's definately Gano'.
