Anyone got any more great routes? I know most of us dabble in the dark arts. Considering the thread, maybe these should be suitable for a ten year bike monk.

Simple advice really, always go for best you can afford. I'd say hard tail definatley. Try before you buy is normally best, and feel the weight, lighter the better.

If you are looking for new get a copy of MBUK, they normally have loads of bikes being offered (esp last years spec) at good discounts. Got the boys Rockhopper A1 like that and saved over 150.

I've got a rockhopper, i got the top spec a few years ago and paid about 900, Its a work horse, currently it has slicks, mudguards and two pannier racks.

Cheers guys, Me and my hard earned cash set off into Manchester yesterday to get a RockHopper, i tried 4 or 5 different bike shops and not one of them had a 21" inch frame in stock, Gutted, so im gonna try on line today!!

 

Although the more i look at the Felt bikes that misterTee suggested the more i like the look of them!!
