The National Geographic site has a short video of Steve Sillett climbing Hyperion -type tallest tree in their search and you've got it.

 

I just found that online for the first time last week, other than the 4 minute cropped version on Youtube.

 

National Geographic had a special show about Yosemite Valley today, and included Spickler climbing the giant Sequoias with Ambrose and someone else, for research. It was about a 5 minute segment.

looking for some images after reading the book and found this site

I don't know about anyone else i really enjoyed the book but i think that they could have added pics! although it just fueled my imagination without:blushing:

Superb book.

 

It is odd that they keep saying Steve Sillett suffers from vertigo.

 

Free climbing 70ft to leap into lowest epicormic of 300ft adjacent tree then free climb that? I wish I had vertigo. I'd be rich!

 

Great contrast book to Jerry Beranek's 'High Climbers and Timber Fallers'.
