The wheels fell off my bus!!!!

I was driving to work this morning....... there was a bit of a grinding noise, like a wheel bearing was on its way out, I looked in the side mirror and saw this.

 

I didn't have hardly any breaks,luckerly I was going slowly at the time and did'nt have a load of log/chip on.

 

 

It wasn't the best way to start a monday but at least the sun was shining.

It could of been a bad one, but luckily it happened in the one part of wales where there was'nt a hill :lol:

 

The bottle of jack daniels was the trusty standard issue scissor jack that is as much use as a bottle of Mr daniels for jacking a van up.

 

as a warning though it wasn't the wheel bearings it was the locking washer that goes between the 2 nuts holding the bearings and hub/half shaft in place.

 

I'll be checking the other side in the morning

we had the same extendable axle on a mark 4 panel van transit quiet a commom fault according to ford:sneaky2:
