Navara MPG

Mine is a manual 55 plate on General Grabber AT2's with a snugtop. I also have a DPT chip fitted to up power, torque and mpg! The last 3 tanks were:

 

31.03 mpg - no towing, 50/50 running around and motorway/dual carriageway.

 

27.54 mpg - some towing and log deliveries.

 

28.93 mpg - towed a chipper for about 50 miles and the rest running around.

Had the Navara a few days now, done 170 miles in it. It's currently showing 27.6mpg on the computer, but more than half of that was towing, and another 20 miles of it was city driving.

 

Loving it though - it's very comfortable, hugely spacious (great for me at 6ft 8") and stupidly fast for such a big truck. And that is with me not putting my foot down or going over 3000rpm until the engine is worn in.

 

It's going to get a few long runs this month - I'll report back on mpg after that.

I took the plunge a couple of weeks ago. Got a 2007 Navara Outlaw with 53k on the clock on rather large General Grabber AT2s. Getting between 27-37 mpg dpending on what i'm doing. At the end of the working day it's a nicer place to sit than my D22 its quiter too and a lot less vibration.

If you can get 35 mpg out of a d22 I would keep it. I bought a new one on 52 plate it did 25mpg it did not really matter as it spent most of its 18 months at the dealers luckily I kept my disco van and went back to it for 3 years after I sold the Nissan.

I've got a D40 Steve - about 3800 miles on the clock now.

 

Had to nip out to the workshop and back to check on something - now up to 36mpg showing (160 miles into the tank).

 

I know as soon as I have to do anything on motorways/in town/with a trailer, it's going to drop though :(

I think with most common rail engines the injection sys is so good it can give you excellent economy or incredible performance but you cant have both. With a light foot you get good fuel economy but it just feels so nice planting that right foot :biggrin:
