what a terrible ordeal for this man and his colleagues to go through. lets hope that he makes the best possible recovery. i'm sure we can all put our hands up to doin something irresponsable at some time so lets show a little more empathy as the consequences of his actions, i'm sure, have allready been realised. no matter his failings noone can say he deserved this. good for his colleague who acted quickly in shutting down the chipper, and i hope this young man mends well. good luck and stay strong.

A lesson in bad taste by myself.

Sometimes, when things are at their bleakest, a sense of humour is all that remains. My comment was in no way intended to insult or ridicle the poor fellow or make light of the fact that his error of judgement has permenantly altered his, and his families lives for ever.

For those who are offended by my comments I appologise.

Does this also possibly show that it doesn't really matter what type of chipper it is (feed bars, emergency stop etc) if you are going through, you're going through unless there is someone else there to stop the machine. A lesson worth learning, from someone elses mistake unfortunately. Good luck to the fella, hope he pulls through OK.

I know exactly what you mean about black humour. Its used very often by people and what some people see as very offensive is actually someone elses coping mechanism.

Have i ever used black humour?

Many many times.:sneaky2:. Most people have used black humour if they are honest.:thumbup1:

Its a time and place thing to use though, Some people are more sensetive than others. Its good that you apologised to any people offended by your post. As long as you show understanding i believe it should be returned.
