i doubt it, never used one, but i dont think i would ever get a 441, looks way to technical and too much to go wrong on it

 

you can beat the grunt of an old 044

That's my worry. Looking for a new saw this size and always like the KISS idea - keep it simple stupid.

 

I know if I was on site whacking timber and a saw give bother I'd probably be able to check the basics - not sure I'd have a laptop to plug it into to do a diagnostic.:lol:

I would agree with you on that one due to the 044 was 16 years old before it she jack in. Next thing a 441 was on the work bench. It looks like sthil tryed to win awards on looks. But may be wrong? So time will only tell!

Used both, have a 440 in the arsenal but think I would chose any new gen saw from any stable over old models, who wants havs???and the anti vibes on a 044 are utter crap...New saws are more economical and I'm told in the future with these new fangled auto tune carb style things you will be able to plug saws in a lap top and chose your power bands... Torque for felling or high revs and pick up for limbing sounds great to me

iv got a 441 run a 20 on her she is 2 years old and never give me a problem sound saw and would buy another

fun matt we was just talking about the 441
