dont think its a huge improvement over the old 335 to be honest.....i think husky have something new in the pipeline though

Spoke to one of my dealers and he said they had all viewed the 2 new saws they are bringing out......very disapointing one seems to be a re badged al co with a 10" bar and the other a bulky under powered brick,it was mentioned why dont they talk to the people who use the saws not the dealers but its looking very disapointing.

As for my new 338,just had a exhaust heat deflector fitted so it solves the heat on hand problem(why this isnt fitted as standard i dont know!

had a re tune and turned the oil pump to max and im actually really liking this saw but there would be 3 issues i think need changing though.

1. more air filter life it seems to need cleaning every 2 tanks of fuel!

2. more fuel! i swear running time is atleast 15 mins shorter before a refuel on a 200t

3.A stronger spark plug cover, mine broke after 2 days!

but still its a vast improvment over the 335 and so far has been worth the money.

In all i would say its getting better as a contendor for the 200t,equally as powerfull when run in,responsive and well balanced... still need to fix that 200t as a back up though!

yeah ficus i mean 338! ill get a new carb for my 07 200t and the broken bits where i chucked it....i just fancied a change, straight away i can tell the 338 is nose heavy...what annoyed me most is the last 3 200's ive brought they seem to be getting shorter in life span although im looking after them better!...its going to be interesting to work with a new saw having used the stihls for years anway

Nose Heavy?!! It's a saw not a boat! :001_tongue:

For the price these saws should run problem free for at least three years or lower the price to 300 quid.

Touch wood i have an 2006 200t and its been excellent.

Of course they are making them cheaper and cheaper stihl now use cheaper materials to build the 200t

All it will do is make us turn to the next good company which i think might be japanese

Matty F, please say why you felled the Coriscan Pine: I ask as we have come across quite a few over the last year or so that have been in poor shape (standing dead, thin foliage, etc) and I was wondering if you have noticed anything similar. :001_smile:

This one had lost its lead so every side branch had become dominant and it had shead a few very large limbs already, reducing the remaining crown wasnt really an option as it would of looked ridiculus plus the fact it already had two large areas of heart wood exposed, one from about 8 years ago...tim was there so if hes freelancing with you soon he can tell you about it!ohh and there was another two perfect specimens that were not quite so over targets!

They seem to have planted quite a few around letchworth ive dead wooded and felled some monsters around there but i spose they were all planted around the same time and must be coming to there end.
