Got a txt off my best mate tonite sayin one of our frend was in a accident at work wilst using a chainsaw. my mate is 20 and he works as a builder. from what iv been told a guy was us chainsaw to cut a stump down whilst my mate was tryin to push the stump over at the same time. the guy using the saw has gone straight threw the stump and into my mates leg and made a real mess of it. none of them hade any PPE on training in use of a chainsaw. i guess this will probly be a HSE investigation. as my mate is only a laborer and was probly doin what he was told to do. would he be able to claim from this ? :confused1:

I would suggest your mate takes appropriate legal advice here and reports the incident to HSE.

Things like this just shouldn't happen and suitable professionals should be engaged for specific tasks.

Hope he recovers soon.
