I had same dilemma 18 months ago. Went out and drove ranger navara and l200. I wanted it as a family motor but still be able to use it if my old work l200 broke . To me the the ranger just wasn't comfy and felt too agricultural, I liked the navara but all the stories from people I knew that owned them and from the net scared me a tad so yes you guessed it I bought an 18 month old warrior. The wife drives it most of the time but I have used it for work a few times and yes they are no where near the ruggedness of say a Landy but I didn't buy it for that. I know alot of people don't like the styling but after some general at2's went on it did help a bit with that.

What did you hate about them ?

love my ranger, got milner rear springs, bit harsh when empty but carry a good load, fuel consumption is around 28 mpg,never used 4 wheel drive at all in the snow last year, seats could be better , fair bit of standard equipment,will sit on the motorway at 70/80 no problem, just my thoughts,a good part time off roader,and will do an honest days graft

I liked my ranger but was trying to much to be a car so was let down on serious off road jobs, also thought of converting to tipper but was put of by what I could carry. Hilux have been fantastic off road and seem to be able to carry loads better but carry a premium on price. So muck so that 00 one is only worth 3k less than 58 one. All depends on what you need from a teuck, if it us to only ferry about tools and men then do for Nissan if not go through exactly what you need to carry or pull then find the truck that suits you.

Yeah- I thikn that if you really start using and abusing these disco 3's etc inm the workplace then they may suffer. TBH i really believe that the last truly decent landrover products for work were the 300 tdi defenders- but that is not relevant to this thread. I reckon that as a mainly family vehicle the disco 3 would be fine. A few on here have them and seem pleased...They are primarily a car though.(BFG dont even make a mud terrain for their 18" rim!!)

I liked the styling but it didnt feel as nice inside and the ride was awful compared to a navara.

you'll hear about more problems with the navaras because theres more of them on the road, its simple maths!

 

ive had no major problems with mine touch wood....a couple minor things that were done during its service but thats it. big plus for nissan is the after service. I've been so impressed with it i made the missus buy a nissan against her will :sneaky2:

you'll hear about more problems with the navaras because theres more of them on the road, its simple maths!

Wondered when you would pipe up!! Thanks mate, i really want to get the navara aventura but the last thing i want to do is get 2k bills in 6 months time because of so called well known problems.

Yes I agree they can be a bit bouncy on the back end , they do ride totally different with some weight in the buck though.

As for the interior I made sure I bought one with leather and it does make it a bit smarter. I do always tell myself though that it still is classed as a commercial vehicle so the ride is never gonna be anything like some of the cars I have owned.
