I was going to keep quiet but..................

The post mentioning the "corkscrew" thingy - the original (and the best) is the GreenMech Combi. Bog standard chipper on the rear and a wide side chute for shredding! The shredder takes upto 2" of solid material but a right fork load of green waste. If it is wet stuff, feed it little and often, if dry then get it in!

With a 2in1 machine you don't have to compromise too much - either chip or shred, simples!

Timberwolf did a demo of their shredder for me at the APF. It wasn't what i wanted/needed in a machine but it was quite impressive. Chips were quite large and it seemed to cope quite well with the stuff they were putting through it.

Talking to the lady selling it apparently builders are getting them. One guy use to use 4 or so skips and with shredding a lot of the stuff comming out he was down to one or two skips a job.

Could you be cheeky and get TW to give you a demo of the machine to see if it will do what you want it to do?

I have a Timberwolf shredder, the first one we had did not have the blower and was promptly returned. Even with the blower they will still get blocked if you just throw the stuff in it, if you know a bit about the job you will not have a problem.

They are quite easy to unblock and we would not be without ours, just dont expect a chipper.
