Advice On Buying A New Saw, Husky Or Stihl?

Looking to buy a new saw, not sure what to go for Husky or Stihl?

 

Saw will be used for cutting larger diameter timber for firewood. My friend has got a MS 440 with a 25" bar (biggest you can fit i believe?) which i get a loan of, seems to be a good enough saw however i feel sometimes i would like to have the option of fitting a larger bar when required

 

Probably be running 20" bar most of the time, the models i was thinking of are

Stihl MS650/660 or Husky 390/395XP.

 

Any advice would be appreciated.

Have a quick search for "husky or stihl"

 

Out of the saws you listed I would go for MS660, brilliant saws.

 

But in all honesty the 395 will be just as good.

stihl MS660 mate all the way... you know what you are getting with them! 395 will be just as good... but id prefer the stihl:)

personal preference really, get your self down the local store and try some saws out, also you need to think of how frequently parts are available:thumbup:

both husky and stihl are great saws....but you can take the ms650 out of the equation unless you're on a budget

Not on a budget so i'll rule the 650 out! One down two to go!
