  1. Hardwood wanted, any amounts, in the Edinburgh, Lothians, Borders , Fife areas. Many Thanks Scott 07711 546 668
  2. Have a look at mower magics website- chainsaw grinder with automatic chain advancement - you can see the video of it working, bit pricey though at £120, seen the same one cheaper on e-bay. Thinking about getting one myself but not sure of build quality, also using it on every sharpen might shorten life on chain?
  3. Got the same, good enough for firewood.Stihl do the exact same one branded with their colours and name, and its CHEAPER!! £12 in their 2011 catalogue
  4. ps u should have put a alasken mill on it and made some nice planks out of that beech Funny you should say that, the local farmer said the same thing to me this afternoon:lol: Think i might try a 25 next. Thanks
  5. I know! had to be done, lol. Even dirtier now after a full days graft.Cheers
  6. Don't think its a chisel chain, not too sure, its just the standard chain dealer gave me.Seems to work good enough for me:001_smile:.I'll find out what type of chain it is out of interest.Going to be buying a smaller bar later on
  7. Purchased the 660 with 36" bar! on Friday, well pleased with it:thumbup:
  8. Thanks for all advice. Going to Stihl dealer in the morning to have look at the 660, i will let you know how i get on. Scott
  9. Would the 395 take a larger bar than a 28"?
  10. If i get the 660 will prob get the filters, for all they cost. Thanks
  11. Will look into the issues you have mentioned. Cheers
  12. Not on a budget so i'll rule the 650 out! One down two to go!
  13. Looking to buy a new saw, not sure what to go for Husky or Stihl? Saw will be used for cutting larger diameter timber for firewood. My friend has got a MS 440 with a 25" bar (biggest you can fit i believe?) which i get a loan of, seems to be a good enough saw however i feel sometimes i would like to have the option of fitting a larger bar when required Probably be running 20" bar most of the time, the models i was thinking of are Stihl MS650/660 or Husky 390/395XP. Any advice would be appreciated.
  14. Hi David,Pity you weren't closer! I am sure you have seen truck mounted forklifts before, they sit on special fabricated brackets on the back of trucks. Moffett Mountys are the most common, tend to be much larger than my one, they are three wheel drive giving them better off road ability, but weigh 1.5 tonnes upwards, where as i have got a Kooi App, one wheel drive more suited to tarmac (have got stuck a few times going off road:thumbdown:) and only weighs 1 ton, giving me a greater payload,of ten tonnes. Despite its limited ability, still a very handy machine to have, making deliveries around Edinburghs tight lanes and busy streets.Even use it as a back up around the yard moving/loading bags of logs if the loader tractor is on another job. Might invest in a Moffett one day but i would also need to buy a larger truck to take it,like a six wheeler, more ££££
  15. Thanks Big j ,pm sent:thumbup:
  16. Anybody got any Hardwood for sale? Any amount from a landy & trailer load to an artic load. Can collect smaller amounts with landy also got Scania 18 tonner with truck mounted forklift (needs to be hard standing as only one wheel drive). Edinburgh,Lothians,Borders Area. Many Thanks Scott.
