Couple of pics of a 2-3 foot diameter canker on a limb high in the crown, of an ash with Stazi ears at crown break. The tree is in a graveyard, and was recently reduced, not by me. Another pic of an ash in the same graveyard eating an old headstone (maybe this ones in the wrong thread?)

And finally a favourite sycamore of mine, growing in a front garden raised up from the road, in front of a very, very old house a couple of doors down from my dads. Almost like it knew where the wall was and avoided it!

that is a lovely ash, and a fine ball canker (dont know cause) nice bit of reduction on that ash too:001_rolleyes:

Odd root/butt growth. Looks like ground level at some point was altered and turfed for development. There is a substantial cavity under this tree, and visible major root damage (visible in the photos). Unsure what would cause such a distinct circumferential swelling like this, or is it slowed root growth?

From a distance the tree looks well balanced though unsymmetrical

Will it stay or will it go?
