Dont think i could ever bring myself to take pop back to the yard for processing. Then again, I dont rate beech as a good firewood either, more in the league of horse chestnut.

I have had about 20 tonnes of beech recently and, we are really sad to see the last of it. It was easy to process and burnt well. This seems to crop up alot on this forum. All these wood preferences..... I understand when you are making things...chairs, tool handles, treen and on and on. But for firewood, it just has to be dry. Sure, some might burn quicker than others, but not so as you'll get annoyed. My house runs on wood - hot water and rads - so I don't think I can afford to be that picky. So, if you have a large pile of beech or any other 'unsuitable' firewood, I will happily take it off your hands...

Ok, just to clarify my list of preferred firewood;

Poplar; great kinding, also good to be sold as yellow ash when stocks of good stuff are running low.

Ash, Sycamore, Cherry, Birch and Oak; Excellent! The best there is in fact. I also would like to add I have lots in stock.

ALL other firewood; Rubbish! I have none of this in stock.:sneaky2:
