As title suggests whats your favourite tree to work on/ look at? And why?

 

I will get the ball rolling... I like London plane trees, I like the bark, and I like the form

 

What's yours?

Yew, because it's strong yet supple plus I love the shape, size and colours. Copper or Purple Beech simply for the colour and feel of the bark and the contrast with the foliage. Majestic looking trees. Lancewoods here in NZ. A very simple but graceful tree.

Beech all day long. If I could work on Beech every day I would be happy. I would only need about 40 big beech take downs a year to make the same money as I do now. Problem is we are running out of big ones in this area!

my faves for working on are any tall straight tree you can run up on spikes skinning them with the 200t on the way up, bash out the top and come back down in 6ft chogs. done before the cuppa goes cold.
