Looks simple and efficient- we might see it here by 2012 :)

 

Great until you get a twig or ivy etc caught and plumit to your death lol :thumbdown:

 

The control lever looks to big and the angle to steep for tree work in comparison to say the lock jack...

Not sure I like the LineBoss, but I saw one of the fellas involved with it at the Portland TCC a month ago. He's retired from treework.....I hung from a saddle and tried it at the Hawaii conference. The website was down for months. He said they were tweaking the design.

 

$425 is about what Thane told me they'd cost. My guess is, they'll not sell very many....

$425!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im not into these mecanical devises for climbing, i like watching my v.t work effortlesy, still stoked about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but like buzz said, 1 twig and its a gonner plus a hitch costs no more that 2 quid............................

The Lineboss and Lockjack only work on doubled ropes.

 

the Unicender works on single ropes and goes up and down without a changeover.

Anything that could cause a mechanical device to fail could cause a hitch to fail. Dismissing something because it's complex isn't realistic. Would anyone give up their mobile and go back to rotary dial phones? Fuel injection for carbs?

The more we introduce these mechanical wonders into the mix, the more chances of failure we're faced with...
