Just been over to see my Grandfather. He's 97 and just been diagnosed with lung cancer. He's not happy, the doctor said he'd had a good innings, my Grandfather said he wants a century :)

He has a few days, possibly a week left.

He was a proper loony in his day. 'Borrowed' a sunbeam motercycle when he was fourteen and set a record, Caernarfon to liverpool in two hours.

Lay down between the train tracks and let the express go over him as a bet. Says the engine dropped a hot cinder on his head as it passed over, but he did'nt dare move it in case a carriage hit him.

Shot the vicars hat off with a 410 as a joke....

He was still driving till last week, and not slowly either.

I hope I get as good an innings...

i dont know where the wages come from but here goes. my first wage was £19.00 and one gallon of fuel with two shots of oil for my fizzie was 90p paid mum £10. i also agree with you lee the old days were best people do not have time for anything or anyone, back in your 70s we were all a lot happier i think, life now is to fast and stressful.
