heres one for sunday morning

with the ms200t/020t being the best and most popular climbing saw on the market

and no other saw seems to be able to knock it off its perch

i am curious to know what was the best climbing saw before the 200t..

how long have the 200/020 been around

with the husqvarna t540xp due out this year, are things going to change?

or with the new ms201t due out also, are stihl going to keep the no 1 spot:blushing:

martyn:thumbup1:

sorry about the heading, should say HISTORY,not histoy[it is sunday]

The ali 020, heavy old things ...but powerful , not sure why it even had a chain break because it didn't actually work!! The fuel tanks were prone to crack if battered, last working one I had I sold at college then it was dropped out of a tree a week later and there was not much left of it , they were well liked and a lot of the older tree guys I used to work with hated the new style ms200 o20t s when they came out...I have a near mint one on my bench my old neighbour gave me that needs a new magnetto curious to get it to work but to be honest it has no serial numbers and I don't really have time for knock off gear I just took it as it was going in the skip and the bar and chain were good!! I seem to remember another small saw as well that was used for tree work but can't remember what it was called, never actually saw one working but there used to be a tea chest of broken ones and old ali 020ts and dolmars in the yard!

I used to repair them Matty and it was quite common for a lot of stihl saws to be missing a serial number, not because it has been removed, but because it had never been stamped.

The milling marks were still on the plate but no numbers
