It would have been interesting to see how the fire crews removed the tree, it sounds to me as if it took them a while.

Thats what i was thinking, don't think it'd take me long or need air bags etc.. strange

Tragic, but there goes another 'death by chainsaw' statistic for the insurance companies and HSE.

 

My mate is in a special rescue unit in the brigade, but admits even after training they don't really know what they are doing. Why not call in a local tree gang?

 

You wonder how many times this is going to happen. It isn't always about money. My father-in-law and his mates are constantly defying the odds stunt-felling stuff off ladders etc. despite knowing I would do the work free.

They just can't resist the challenge - 'look at us, we can still get a mans job done'.

 

Darwinism at its cruellest.
