TP 200 Chipper - any good?

Mate of mine reckons they are crap but that's the only time I've heard that; would value some opinion on it - NOT the pto model - the turntable one.

when i hire a chipper off my local dealer its a tp 6" and i think its awesome!

basic but awesome:thumbup1:

when i was on sub-contract work for a company for 6 months hedgelaying,they hired a tracked greenmech with all the fancy dan digital controls for speed,start,run, blah,blah we had loads of problems with it and the safety stop cut out bar run around the bottom and sides,when you were feeding the hopper,branches would stop the feed by hitting the safety bar

with the tp bar runs around the top and sides-no probs what so ever,just turn the key and feed

cant go wrong with TP mate, i have used them for 8 years and still own 1, yes they are pto but chipper is the same. Very easy to replace blades and operate.

chipper i hire is not turntable,just standard towable 6":thumbup:

I heard that they are robust enough except that the infeed safety bar latch is onsided only. Cannot go wrong with the Osbornes as a supplier tho.

 

Not as good as a GreenMech tho:sneaky2:

Good basic no nonsense machine, I had the turntable model with the 50hp Hatz engine for a bit, nothing complicated about it, just chips whatever you put in it.

 

Release on the stop bar is only on one side, tad annoying but not the end of the world. Not the lightest machine either, but then you get a lot more chipping power than a 6" machine.

they are good chippers , i have used them and can not really fault them , my only grumble is that i dont have one on the front or back of my mog lol

Have a pto one and regulary use a towable one. Blooming good bits of kit. Basic but reliable.
