Raffle draw dry-run this evening 10pm

As most of you will know who have attended previous draws, every year we struggle with the load it puts on the servers. Last year i trebled the size of my server to allow for this and things still went bad. I have arranged for the server technicians to monitor arbtalk at 10pm this evening. Please could as many of you as possible enter the chat room FlashChat v4.7.12 at 10pm. The site will more than likely crash, but in doing so should hopefully pinpoint what adjustments we need to make to the server to ensure the live draw can go ahead without a hitch

im on the same server but its been upgraded and tweaked, but i still think it will need some work for the draw

What the hell is a server?

 

Just intrested as computer wise all i know what to do on my computer is to produce quotes on ms word, surf the web and put songs on my ipod, although that took ages to work out.

 

What goes into running a site like this and what makes running things different from having say a site built for a buisness and one where people are writing things on there like this site?
