rigging to pull over trees

hi been doing some coppicing lately and got a lot of trees to pull over in the hedge row cant get a vehicle in there at the moment and to far to carry a turfer winch in there + plus saw and fuel have set up a fiddle block before but was looking for ways to increase the mechanical advantage and come across this on [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OKKJWZExl0]YouTube - How to Setup a Long Slackline[/ame] the guy recons the final set up is a 36.1 advantage? is that right seems like a lot ?

looks like a tight slackline.

I have 50m or statick marlow set with a 6-1 which I regularly use to pull stuff over

Lighter and quicker than the tirfor

and if a massive pull required pull the system with little tirfor:thumbup:

i normally put a rope in the tree then put a prusik loop on that then attach a 5.1 set up which i have set up on a seperate rope attached to a stump with a strop just looking at ways to increase the pull on a few of the bigger ones as they have a fair back lean with out a using it as a bit of a learning curve i guess to see whats possible for future use :001_smile:

Seen a setup which is like a grcs but the winch (same type was bolted to a teardrop shaped plate with a eye in it and had a strop though it chockered to a tree, the guy who put it together said the whinch cost £75 at boat jumble.

Was the dogs dangles reckoned that the whole setup cost him £150:thumbup:

have a look on pro climber for an assisted fell kit , this system is used for assisted felling when working in proximity to powerlines , it is verry effective , quick to set up and simple to use - should cost you roughly £260 ish . if you cant find anythin pm me and i can post some pics of the system we use . hope this is of use to you
