I made some years ago.

 

I cut some Venison into Strips,marinated it in Soya Sauce and Cumin.Hung it up off a Frame I made from the Ceiling in the Kitchen.

 

Tasted great with a Beer!

Agree, some tastes better with more than others. My wifes food tastes great after a couple of bottles of sloe gin.

Alton Brown on Good Eats made some once. Looked cracking stuff. Had a go with the oven on low but low wasn't quite low enough. Turned out crispier than a Findus Pancake. Apparently I should have turned the oven off when it reached 50 degrees then banged the meat in and left the door cracked. Keen to find out what method you use and how it turns out.

Still a bit soft for my liking, was 30 -40 cm away from the stove from about 7pm

Am a little bit dissapointed with the chillies it's supposed to be hot enough to stop me nailing it too quickly but that's not gonna happen.

 

I'll see what it's like when I'm back from work later but I reckon it's gonna need another 1-2 hrs with the stove on

Tis very yummy thank you very much,though am disappointed with the chilli heat they were dried bought on the bay and are easily eatable not what i was expecting at all. Think for my next batch I'll avoid the commercial sauce and try to make it all myself as not too keen on the stickiness.

 

 

Did you have another attempt ?

An Eco fan on top of the stove, blowing in the direction of the jerky might be an idea (if you have an Ecofan that is)!
