Conifer, chain throwing, tell me about it:cursing: A subject worthy of its own rant thread.

 

My Echo top handle has a narrow nosed bar as standard and will throw the chain through conifer. But, my 200T with the standard bar, will also throw the chain so not so sure if this is due to the narrow bar:confused1:

 

Plunge cutting with the nose wears the bar out very quickly - especially if any dirt is involved:001_rolleyes:

Oregon, at one time (early eighties), did produce a so called 'safer' bar. Not sure what it was called but we called them banana bars due to their shape. Never caught on and you couldn't turn the bar on the saw either.

i only ever had kick back when i did my cs31 ticket- after the examiner told me i'd passed- theres a lesson there:blushing:

 

Could that lesson be, your instructor wasnt too good at giving lessons?:001_rolleyes::lol:

A lot of the electric B&Q type saws have got the top tip guard, and personally I think they should come on all of the mail order, DIY store and catalogue saws, cos let's face it, how many people who order from catalogues i.e. Argos are going to know about boring cuts anyway?
