Also are the ISC rope grabs any good?

Yes, they are brilliant. Took me a while to trust mine and used a backup line whenever possible. Don't bother now, I trust the rope grab in all situations. Of course you need to learn how to use it safely etc. :001_smile:

Just treated myself to a new Yale Maxi-Sport with ISC 3-way snap and ISC mini rope grab. Couldn't be more pleased.

 

I can't rate the ISC 3-way snap enough , i use one on my strop also. Brilliant bit of kit.

Hi alex, what would you recommend instead of a rope grab? I've used the ISC one, have thought of trying a simple prussik.

 

VT on micro-pulley here. One handed tending and never let me down.

 

Rope grab is good, until you slip and end up with your full weight hanging under a branch. As said, not easy to adjust then....

I too use a VT and micro pulley on my yale steel core. I use the VT and pulley set up on my regular lanyard as well.
