i hate pruning any tree that has been pruned really badly in the past ie pollarded. the old saying "u cant polish a turd" comes into force.

 

 

HEY HEY HEY keep your language down! I'll have you know i'm very fond of proper pollarding, and so is the site owner ain't that right Steve? :D

 

Nothing wrong with ''proper'' pollarding, its BS topping wrongly titled pollarding that gets my goat..:thumbdown:

Giant American Elms- "especially when they cover four different yards."

 

Huge Pin Oaks- "because they usually take all day to prune just one and the wood is tough as rocks."

 

Colossal Honey Locust- "the ones with the massive ball of spikes every few feet, wood also hard to cut."

 

Monstrous Sugar Maples- "with no central lead."

 

Enormous Freeman/Silver Maples- "with multiple leaning leads with no central tie in."
