my question is : when do you pull the plug on it being too cold ? who's hardcore and who's not ?

do you consider tree species and characteristics when climbing at the mo.

i have a fairly large ash takedown 2moro with some technical lowering,hoping to get it done in 3 days max but might be 2.

the team is ready to roll but i suppose just having got back from NZ im adjusting to the english weather and was wondering what the general feel is at the mo.

did a fair size ash takedown today which was freezing . . . but as long as your ground crew dont keep you waiting too long then i found i could stay warm enough. good base layers/thermals are a must. i think the slipperyness from the ice and snow is the main danger but you can use secondary anchors etc worst bit for me was frozen toes where the spikes seemed to be stopping the blood flowing. id say just go for it:001_tt2:

working in minus 16 this morning, only problem was if not using the friction hitch on a section of rope, that section will freeze making the hitch jumpy
