He is now confirmed dead, along with his 5 year old son and 2 other passengers.

 

There seems to be an increasing number of chopper crashes, I wonder if it will be investigated???

CAA were on the scene last night,

 

Colin his 5 year old son and his 6year old pal are all confirmed dead. very sad indeed. I wasn't into football and all that when I was at school all I was interested in was rallying. Colin and Richard Burns were my heros.

Sad news, he had a 15 year old squirrel I wonder if the maintenance was up to scratch as it sounds like he had a catastrophic control failure from the witness reports.

Its a tragic loss.Especially as children were also killed.

I'm a Subaru Impreza driver and talk to anyone who is and they will tell you one of the reasons they own one is because the likes of Colin Mcrea and Richard Burns. They turned this car from an unknown to an iconic ledgend. Sadly both are now gone but their memory lives on every time I and many others turn the key.

Colin was for me the highlight of the Swedish rally and think he did more for the rally sport then any other driver, if you ask someone who don't know anything about rally you can be sure they know the name Colin Mcrea !!
