WHSaid - new caps being reserved for 661 altho Stihl did toy with the idea of putting them on the 66. 461(2) and 661(2) have apparently been prototyped but production and testing always a big secret - I have seen a picture of "a 461" but it could have been a teaser or fake. Likewise I'll be buying a 660 when discontinue is on the horizon; bought my 460 last year thinking it was going sooner - might buy another!

Because the 66 is sold in fairly small numbers, they still have a lot of oil tank castings with screw threads, so the new cap won't happen.

My dealer has already seen part numbers for the 661, so it is coming.

But the 880 must sell in even smaller numbrs and my 880 has the new caps.

Also what the big thing against the new 661, are we all afraid of moving on?

They must have had less 88 castings on the shelf.

The 661 will be a newfangled thing, that is designed for emissions, not performance.

Nice one martin:thumbup: The 660 and 880 will be singing on that willow in a few weeks:biggrin:

I would recomend a 24 inch bar (the one you have looks like 30???). Keep the longer bar for occasional use, a 24 inch bar on a 066 is an amazing thing!

great minds . . .:thumbup1: knowing that burrell's already got a 25inch bar that will fit is why i suggested he get a bigger bar to use occassionally:001_cool:
